PriniterPrezz Collaborates with UCSF to Build 3D Printed Medical Equipment

California-stationed medical 3D printing service bureau PrinterPrezz has joined hands with UCSF Surgical Innovations, a startup-accelerator for MedTech innovators at UC San Francisco.

PrinterPrezz is trying to open a brand new co-location center, which can leverage the medical expertise of UCSF to develop new IP. The hope is that this will also research and development of 3D printed medical items, with a faster time-to-market.

PrinterPrezz provides a variety of 3D printing services to medical professionals such as access to 3D printing machines, 3D manipulation software program, and 3D scanners, in addition to advanced manufacturing processes. With this know-how at its control, the corporate can create surgical aids, prosthetics, implants, and numerous other medical appliances.

In December 2018, the corporate opened its Innovation Center, a one-stop 3D printing center in Fremont, which brings plan, prototyping, and manufacturing under one umbrella, aiming to streamline the manufacturing processes of medical gadgets for PrinterPrezz’s prospects.

PrinterPrezz has further partnered with some of the trade leaders in medical 3D printing. Most recently this has entered distributor of 3D scanners Growshapes LLC, as PrinterPrezz regarded to scale its 3D imaging lab, using 3D imaging technologies from Growshapes to scan medical components and implants in high resolution.

Other companions have included California-based medical system firm Si-bone, with which PrinterPrezz have developed and constructed 3D printed implant instruments.

The PrinterPrezz & UCSF center will provide essential resources to medical purchasers, including engineering and manufacturing access, together with an ‘open ecosystem’ of hardware and software program. The center intends to let hospitals take dormant IP and new concepts to the market shortly by offering direct access to 3D printing know-how not available inside the hospital.
